What's the talk about?

Through the scientific method, we gain and test our knowledge of our environment, life and the universe. However, some abuse and misrepresent it, leading to confusion and the detriment of human progression.

In this talk, Dr Tom Williamson presents an introduction to the scientific method, how science gets done, and the various techniques used by groups such as creationists, antivaccinationists and homeopaths to distort it.

The talk includes a live demonstration of how meaningless data can be spun to support a desired conclusion, so volunteers will be needed!

£2.50 on the door or in advance at the Hackney Attic's online box office.

More details to follow, but as this is our opening night, we'll try to make it special and sciencey. And fun. We look forward to meeting you all!
